Halloween

I needed to make a Halloween inspired postcard for a swap group and also wanted to make a Halloween card for the Fiskarettes Facebook group so hoping to combine the two! I used the Fiskars texture plate "webbing" and run it through my Fiskars fuse to emboss black card. I hear embossed this with Wow glitter embossing powder which I liked.  I used one of the Julie Nutting doll stamps and added some paper piecing for her dress.  The spider paper was from Joanna Sheen some time ago and I coloured it with distress ink.  The Happy Halloween stamp is from Clearly Besotted.

OMG - My first ever craft workshop!!

UFor the first time ever I am going on a craft workshop - yes I know it has taken me a long time but am so excited.  Barbara Daines is running it and I am so pleased there is something local to me and I love all of her projects.

We will be aiming for a similar project.  I will update later if this mission is successful.

Quilting!

I know I am a very bad person and very tardy blogger - unfortunately life gets in the way and there are always so many things which need doing first!  I know this is just making excuses.  Anyway here I am.  I have refound my sewing machine - I have made lots of summer frocks which I love and have tried quilting.

I am lucky to own a Fiskars Fuse die cutting machine and this takes the Sizzix quilting dies easily.  The Fuse is my go to machine - I had another make of large die cutter which was also excellent but just took up too much room.  The brilliant Fuse folds up when not in use.  I love cutting all the patchwork pieces and sewing them all together again. I am not keen on the quilting bit but this is because I am not very good at it - need to practice more. I get lots of inspiration from Missouri Star.

Just a start - can't wait to choose my next project time permitting.  These are definitely not perfect but they are finished and I am pleased with the them for starters.
