Embossed floral mirror

After my recent workshop, I decided to make another embossed mirror but in a slightly different way.  I cut rectangles of plain white card which I embossed with a Fiskars texture plate and stuck to the mirror. I added a frame around the mirror to hide the edges.  I painted this silver and when dry used some gilding wax to enhance the embossing.

I added the flowers made with paper cut with the Fiskars squeeze punches which are so easy to use and so many to choose from.  I like to scrunch the flowers to get a pretty effect.

This was one of my projects for Fiskarettes UK.  Such fun to do and could be done on any picture frames, mirrors etc

Now must get on with making some of my Christmas cards

Faux Cathedral Window Card

I have decided that my next quilt is going to be a cathedral window quilt.  Have done the easy version and now can't wait to have a go at the proper version - well one day. Perhaps will start next time I have some days off work.   Anyway until then I thought I would make a paper version for a card and thought this would be a great project for Fiskarettes UK.

Finished card with matting and layering

Using my Fiskars squeeze circle punch to cut circles out of double sided paper.

This scrap card circle is to help shape the pattern paper.  Mark a square as in the diagram.  This would also work as a triangle or hexagon.

Cut the circle into a square.

Use the scrap card square to fold over the edges of the pattern paper circles

Don't they look cute all done

Close up!
