Christmas cards

HI really enjoyed making these Christmas cards - they are simple and yet effective.  I love making Christmas cards - a chance to send messages to loved ones and friends who live far away.  We don't write many letters anymore so sending and receiving messages through the post is special to me.  I always love the time the postie comes to the door and the anticipation of what might be coming, luckily not to many bills come through the post!  We are almost ready for Christmas - we will be spending time with family and enjoying good food in great company.  It is always tinged with sadness that mum won't be here - but have so many great memories of previous Christmases.

Theses cards were made by matting and layering decorative papers onto the card and the Christmas tree is made by cutting a circle in half and folding to form the tree.  I use my Fiskars trimmer and scissors and the Fiskars fuse and fuse circle die to make life easy.

Iris Folding

I have decided it is time for iris folding to make a comeback!  I love cutting the strips, using up scraps but more so getting to use lots of my special papers.  I find it therapeutic folding the strips and arranging against a pattern to make some pretty designs.  I cut the circles for the following card with my Fiskars power punch - these are amazing punches, so easy to use and will cut with ease through so many thinks you wouldn't think possible with punches.
